On March 31, 2023, Italy blocked the use of the ChatGPT AI tool, causing controversy and concern in the digital community. Italian authorities stated that their decision was due to concerns about security and privacy, as well as the possible negative influence the tool could have on society, especially among minors. Italy has also raised questions about the regulation of AI in other countries and regions, leading some to call for a clearer and more consistent framework for AI regulation worldwide. ## Investigation of ChatGPT in Spain. The Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) has initiated preliminary actions to investigate OpenAI for possible breaches of data protection regulations. The AEPD has joined the European Data Protection Committee to review this matter and ensure that the service complies with data protection standards in Europe. But Spain is not the only country taking action regarding the use of this technology. France and Germany are also investigating the use of personal information in ChatGPT. Meanwhile, Italy, the United States, and China have voiced their concerns and plan to legislate to avoid risks regarding the use of AI. At the moment, it has been decided that no restrictions or prohibitions will be imposed on the OpenAI AI service in Spain, as has happened in Italy.
